The North Polk Community School District is a progressive educational community located in the Des Moines metro area just north of Ankeny serving the communities of Alleman, Elkhart, Polk City, Sheldahl, and Northern Ankeny. The District proudly serves over 2200 learners from preschool through 12th grade in five buildings (West Elementary, PK-2nd; Big Creek, 3rd-5th, Central Elementary, PK-5th, Middle School, 6th-8th; and High School, 9th-12th). We are looking for qualified substitute nurses that are excited to join the team to support student learning during nurse absences. Pick up assignments when you want, based on your schedule!Compensation:$27.17 per hour

Benefits:

  • Substitutes are eligible for IPERS immediately (no qualification period).

  • Flexible Work Schedule. Pick up positions that will work for you!

School Hours: 8:15 AM - 3:15 PM. Every Monday is a 2 hour late start.

Requirements:

  • All applications must include a minimum of 3 completed references.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting a safe, positive teaching and learning environment.

  • Assisting in the physical and intellectual development of students.

  • Supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral development of students.

  • Establishing positive and productive relationships.

  • Communicating consistently with teachers, staff, and students.

  • Demonstrating ethical and professional standards of conduct.

  • Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to ensure best practice and that supports are in place for students.

  • Adhering to the Individual Education Plan and maintaining confidentiality regarding student educational programming.
