$30.40 per hour

1st Shift - Monday-Friday - 7am-3:30pm - $30.40

Whirlpool in Amana, Iowa is looking for an MES Technician to help assemble our world class refrigerators. This position works on identifying and resolving computer system issues. Create, assemble, install and maintain computer systems. Troubleshoot computer systems, specifically hardware and OS issues, data transfer issues and equipment communication issues.

Your responsibilities will include

1. Hardware: Installing new hard drives and power supplies, upgrading firmware, installing network cards, serial cards and monitors

2. Software: OS troubleshooting/installation, software/application installation (IIS, SQL, etc.), virus scanning/firewall integration, troubleshooting computers not booting up, corrupt registry files, wireless issues, log on issues.

3. Network: Setting up and maintaining Internet connectivity, network configuration, sharing, printer setup issues etc.

4. External/Peripheral devices: Installing, troubleshooting and repairing mice, keyboards, cameras, speakers, how to set up hand scanners (hard wired and wireless)

5. Administrative: Build and maintain PC inventory, PC prep (Installing the shell), work with vendors on application PC's. Training application users and MES technicians for other shifts. Write basic procedures for equipment. Willingness to help others with a sense of urgency. Attention to detail and accurately report issues. Backup critical programs and equipment configurations. Manage computer systems documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

Able to pass a drug screen and background check

Preferred: A+ certification which is a vendor-neutral certification program that certifies an individual with computer repair skills. A computer technician can specialize in desktop computers, laptops, servers, or all of them.
