Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will fill and compound medications, including ointments. You will communicate with nursing staff to confirm dosages and fill prescriptions for a facility that services 1000 beds. Your responsibilities include labeling prescriptions and following pharmacy policies and procedures. You will work in either the daily fill or cycle fill departments. Daily fill involves preparing prescriptions for immediate shipment, while cycle fill involves preparing blister cards and bottles of medications that will last for 30+ days for patients.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Ankeny, Iowa.

Work Environment

You will work in a casual environment and must be able to stand for long periods. This is a production environment, ideal for those with similar background experience. Shifts rotate weekly: Mon – Fri 8am – 7pm, Sat 9am-3pm, and Sun 10am-2pm. Weekends are every 3rd weekend. During your weekend shift, you will have a day off and shorter shifts during the week. Dress code is casual with closed-toe shoes. This is a long-term care pharmacy, servicing nursing homes, assisted living, and group homes.
