Robert Half Accounts Receivable Clerk in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Description
We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Clerk in the transport industry based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In this role, you will handle tasks related to customer payments, including tracking outstanding debts, identifying late payments, and overseeing receipts and cash applications.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage financial transactions, focusing on accounts receivable.
• Keep track of customer accounts for payment irregularities such as delays or nonpayment.
• Generate and distribute invoices, acquire supporting documents, and submit invoices for payment.
• Investigate and address customer inquiries related to their bills.
• Compile financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis regarding the status of customer accounts.
• Engage in collection activities such as sending follow-ups and negotiating with clients.
• Update account status records and collection efforts.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and control reports.
• Utilize your skills in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Receivable (AR), Billing, Cash Applications, Cash Collections, Commercial Collections, Microsoft Excel, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP
Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, which includes identifying discrepancies and resolving them in a timely manner
• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR), including tracking and recording payments in accordance with financial policies and procedures
• Strong capability in Billing, which includes generating invoices and account statements
• Proficiency in Cash Applications, demonstrating the ability to apply cash payments accurately to customer accounts
• Experience in Cash Collections, with the ability to follow up on overdue payments and negotiate payment plans
• Expertise in Commercial Collections, including understanding the legal procedures involved in recovering debts
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, for managing and analyzing data
• Experience with Oracle financial software, for managing financial processes and data
• Familiarity with QuickBooks, for managing accounting, billing, and invoicing tasks
• Experience with SAP financial software, for managing financial operations and reporting.
