Description

We are seeking a Legal Secretary to join our team based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role centers around supporting our legal team through a variety of tasks, contributing significantly to the smooth operation of our legal team. This position offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the legal team to prepare cases, which includes researching legal articles, maintaining case files, and drafting and proofreading legal documents.

• Facilitate effective communication by managing correspondence with clients, answering phone calls, and responding to emails.

• Schedule and coordinate meetings, interviews, and consultations with clients and legal professionals.

• Ensure all legal documents are processed, organized, and stored properly.

• Conduct administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and managing expense reports.

• Stay abreast of relevant laws and legal protocols.

• Utilize various software and systems, including Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, and Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), for case management and client relations.

• Handle billing functions, briefing, and calendar management effectively.

• Employ your skills in consumer electronics to improve efficiency in our operations.

Requirements • Proficient in Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), and Case Management Software.

• Skilled in using CompuLaw for managing legal processes.

• Familiarity with billing functions within a legal setting.

• Ability to deliver effective briefing and maintain calendar management.

• Strong client relations skills for maintaining and fostering professional relationships.

• Knowledge of consumer electronics for efficient daily operations.

• Experience in executing legal secretarial duties such as preparing legal documents and correspondence.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks.

• Ethical conduct in accordance with professional legal standards.

• Must be proactive, organized, and able to work under pressure.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

• A strong team player, but also able to work independently.
