In Precision Strike & Sensing Solutions, we design and manufacture state-of-the-art systems and technology that enable our customers to execute their precision strike missions.

BAE Systems is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with passion for engineering and the desire to be part of an innovative, dedicated team responsible for industry-leading military navigation and guidance products. Our team needs engineers interested in architecting, designing, developing, and verifying software for electronics embedded within military airborne, ground and weapons applications.

As a part of this team, you will be responsible for implementing software that interfaces directly with hardware components. You will also guide the selection, configuration, and customization of various operating systems on these embedded products. Your team s software will support application software teams across a variety of programs. The successful applicant should be knowledgeable and skilled with a variety of development and test tools as well as proficient in the development of embedded hardware/software applications.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline, and 4 plus years of direct related experience

  • Must be a US Citizen and the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance

  • High motivation to solve problems and continuously improve existing products

  • Strong verbal and written technical communication skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in defining and building embedded solutions

  • Knowledge of Linux bootloader, drivers, and file system

  • Experience creating Board Support Packages for custom hardware

  • Experience with debugging embedded targets

  • Solid understanding of software development processes for real-time embedded applications, including modernized software processes (e.g. Agile, DevSecOps)

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Deployment of homogeneous or heterogenous architectures on multicore and multi-processor systems

  • Applying secure coding practices

  • Implementing and configuring security protocols

  • Practiced in the use of Open System Architectures concepts

  • Working knowledge of Digital Signal Processing techniques

  • Experience with build systems and test automation

  • Experience with safety or security certification processes

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $83900 - $142600

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
