Tri-City Electric Technology Support Specialist in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Tri-City Group is seeking a dedicated Site Technology Specialist to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA. This position will be crucial in ensuring seamless operations at the job site through the management and support of technology systems, providing support for users, and enhancing project efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, be adaptable to various technology platforms, and be proactive in resolving technical issues to facilitate project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technology Management & Support:

  • Setup, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot iPads, computers, printers, and other on-site technology.

  • Provide technical support to on-site teams and utilize internal Tri-City Technology (TCT) resources for advanced troubleshooting when necessary.

  • Tool Administration & Utilization:

  • Administer and effectively utilize tools such as Smartsheet, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and other platforms to improve project coordination, task management, and communication.

  • Technology Integration:

  • Ensure seamless integration of technology solutions with project workflows and work closely with project teams to ensure tools are being used to their fullest potential.

  • Stakeholder Communication:

  • Act as the primary on-site point of contact for any technology-related inquiries and collaborate with technical teams and project stakeholders to resolve issues and implement technology solutions.

  • Training & Support:

  • Provide on-site training and support for jobsite staff, assisting them with technology tools and systems.

  • Develop and maintain user guides and documentation to help onboard and educate team members.

  • Inventory & Asset Management:

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all on-site technology assets, ensuring proper deployment, tracking, and condition of equipment.

  • Coordinate repairs, replacements, and upgrades as necessary.

  • Documentation & Reporting:

  • Record and document technology issues, resolutions, and best practices to inform continuous improvement.

  • Prepare and submit reports on technology performance and equipment needs to leadership.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in technology support or a similar role.

  • Proficient in using and administering tools such as Smartsheet, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Microsoft 365, and SharePoint.

  • Skills:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency with IT systems, mobile device management, and cloud-based tools.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of construction industry workflows and technology requirements.

  • Familiarity with network setup and maintenance.

  • Experience with Apple devices and mobile device management.

  • Certification in relevant IT or project management disciplines.

Work Environment:

  • This is an on-site role, requiring presence at active job sites.

  • Collaboration with project teams and coordination across departments.

  • Minimal travel beyond the assigned job site.
