General Summary:
Provides patient care, through all phases of the Endoscopy experience; admission through
discharge according to established guidelines. Provides patient care activities to patients of
diverse ages.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Prepares and evaluates outpatients prior to the procedure in an efficient and caring manner to
provide for a smooth patient flow. May include doing pre-procedure phone calls to patients
and/or physician offices to obtain information.
• Demonstrates the ability to organize work and enhance the safety and quality of patient care,
service and treatment.
• Proficient in IV skills.
• Review charts to ensure completeness in documentation.
• Prepares for cases in an efficient manner, anticipating needs of the patient and physician.
• Provides a safe environment for customers: patient, family, physicians and staff.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Possession of a current or compact state license as a registered nurse issued/defined by the
State of Iowa.
• Basic Life Support certified within six (6) weeks of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies
and certifications include American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare
Providers
• Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft office products. Helpful if familiar with
ProVation RN & MD.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified or obtained within six (6) months of hire.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served
within three (3) months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and speak English language.
