Job Description
NURSE SUPERVISOR

IMCC is a multi-faceted correctional institution that serves as the reception center for the Iowa Department of Corrections as well as housing a forensic psychiatric hospital, STA/LTA, special needs unit, and a hospice unit to name a few. Nurse supervisors plan out schedules, make rounds with staff, answer kiosk messages, and call for OT. They take turns being on-call. They attend various meetings on a routine basis. We are currently hiring a nurse supervisor for the evening shift.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
All of the following (a, b, and c):
Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa by the Iowa Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator’s Agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing; and
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in nursing; and
One year of full-time professional clinical work experience in a correctional environment or in any combination of nursing specialty areas including epidemiology, geriatrics, maternal and child health, nursing education, pediatrics, public health, mental health or psychiatrics, or intellectual disability.
All of the following (a and b):
Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa by the Iowa Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator’s Agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing; and
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in nursing.
All of the following (a, b, and c):
Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa by the Iowa Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator’s Agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing; and
One year of full-time professional clinical work experience in a correctional environment or in any combination of nursing specialty areas including epidemiology, geriatrics, maternal and child health, nursing education, pediatrics, public health, mental health or psychiatrics, or intellectual disability; and
A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in part b), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in nursing equals one year of full-time experience.
