Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)

  • This position must follow the MOU in the master teacher contract, page 57

  • Assist in protecting the administrator’s instructional time by handling on a first responder basis the majority of issues.

  • Meet regularly and consistently with the administrator to pre-calendar and reconcile the administrator’s calendar to ensure building goals are being met.

  • Meet the requirements, duties, and responsibilities of the 7 SAM Standards

  • Oversee and manage students and all components of PBIS

  • Plan and facilitate staff development that is pertinent to the buildings goals

  • Attend IEP meetings as the Administrative Designee

  • Act as the building Data Manager

  • Facilitate meetings with staff and parents

  • Oversee and manage Title 1 Grant/Budget

  • Oversee and manage Differentiated Accountability Plan/Budget

  • Assist in the facilitation of Professional Learning Communities

  • Work flexible hours to meet the needs of the building

  • All other duties as assigned by the principal

  • Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students and their families to ensure that each child reaches his/her full potential.

  • Good attendance and punctuality are necessary to ensure that all duties and responsibilities are successfully completed.

  • Must be willing to support and implement Davenport’s multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for both behavior and academics.

  • Includes 20% supplemental which includes additional responsibilities, extended hours, and evening work

  • Endorsement Required: Any valid Iowa Teaching License. Willing to apply and obtain [979] SAM Authorization

  • Meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

  • Must be able to implement Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies, including appropriate physical restraint procedures and escorting.
