What You'll Do

The AVP, Retirement Operations will play a meaningful role in supervising the operational activities related to our retirement plan sponsors and/or their participants, ensuring seamless service delivery and client happiness. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations and requires a strategic problem solver with strong leadership skills and deep expertise in retirement plan administration.

  • Lead operations teams supporting end-to-end plan sponsor and participant functions within Retirement Operations. Leads strategic business initiatives to accelerate the transformation of the Workplace operating model. Coordinates with the Segment Heads to optimize operational processes to support bold growth and retention initiatives. Builds upon team expertise to tailor operations to deliver market leading capabilities that contribute to key clients, participants, and intermediaries. Collaborates with IT and other departments to leverage technology solutions for improving operational workflows and client experience. Ensures adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies, mitigating operational risks.

  • Working closely with enterprise Technology, Product and Marketing partners, serve as the Operations lead responsible for accelerating the organization’s operating results on key business strategic initiatives. Coordinates with the Business Risk & Controls team to embed controls within initiatives and core processes.

  • Advance and champion the global delivery strategy throughout Retirement Operations. Identify and implement the strategy and implementation plan to leverage our full global capabilities to create efficient scale, develop talent pool, and enable technology to support the needs of our clients.

  • Communicate vision and empower, develop and retain staff in a way that consistently allows the team to deliver upon business objectives. Responsible for oversight in hiring, performance management, compensation and training. Provides employees timely, candid, and constructive performance feedback. Develops employees to their fullest potential and provides exciting opportunities that improve employee career growth. Develops the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning. Responsible for the oversight and delivery of Management Reporting used to supervise results.

  • Participate in strategic planning within the business and lead the development of strategies that aligns Retirement Operations to the broader organization to ensure financial goals are attained. Serve on various committees and work groups as necessary to advance the overall interests of the business segment and enterprise overall.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, plus 10+ years related work experience including dynamic leadership experience. Experience leading broad multi-functional teams within retirement operations is required.

  • FINRA Series 6 & 26 licensing required; Series 7 & 24 licensing preferred

  • Must have deep knowledge of the retirement industry, legislative and regulatory landscape and corresponding processes and operations

  • Must be a strategic problem solver and have strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience enabling technology solutions within a business operation

  • Shown strategic leadership with the ability to efficiently transform an operation while focusing on talent management and client experience

  • Requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to build believing relationships with internal and external partners and customers

  • Ability and willingness to travel 15% of the time

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$174000 - $236000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
