Description

We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Sales and Service representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will develop, market, and sell ready mix productswithin the commercial and residential markets. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strategic approach to sales, and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Assist QC with all mix performance criteria including placing, setting, finishing, strength gain, durability, slump, and air issues during preconstruction, construction, and post construction phases.
  • Assist with dispatching and other logistical and control tasks as required facilitating production, delivery, customer development, and service.
  • Develop, market, and sell ready mix products within the commercial and residential markets with emphasis on Extended Joint, Flat Floors, ICF, High Strength, and High-Performance Concrete Construction
  • Assist with the preparation of Quotations.
  • Identify potential clients, evaluate their production capabilities, and credit worthiness.
  • Identify all advertised and unadvertised projects that require ready mix materials. Identify construction projects including on lsqft, perform materials take-offs and determine materials technical and performance requirements from projects plans and specifications.
  • Develop relationships with potential customers to secure bidding opportunities.
  • Service customer accounts. Provide production support with job-site service as directed including assisting customers to plan and execute concrete pours to maximize delivery efficiency, perform quality assurance tests, provide technical services, investigate problems, and perform production plant inspections as directed.
  • Observes all production operations, identifies deficiencies, and works with manager to implement corrective actions. Follows through on implementation.
  • Attend trade and social functions necessary to market potential customers and to develop professional expertise.
  • Complete Weekly Sales Report documenting all customers contacts, projects discussed, status of accounts, and related materials.
  • Assist with the application of the Credit policy. Collect accounts receivable.
  • Perform administrative functions including documenting sales activities, administering contract documents and submittals, and similar duties.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma.
  • Four-year college degree preferred.
  • Must achieve IDOT Agg I andII PCC I andII Certifications.
  • Must achieve NRMCA Certified Concrete Sales Professional Class. The CCSP certification program is broken down into four areas: Concrete 101 -Technical/Product Knowledge, Module I. Understanding the Concrete Contractors' Business -Customer Business Knowledge, Module II. Business Skills Basics for Profit -General Business Knowledge, Module III. Professional Presentation Skills -Professional Sales Skills, Module IV.
  • Must achieve ACI Field Technician Certification ProgramsConcrete Field Testing TechnicianGrade Icertification.
  • Must achieve ACI Craftsman Certification Programs Concrete Flatwork Finisher and Techniciancertification.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Comprehe sive knowledge with ready-mixed concrete and its components, and with concretes performance characteristics.
  • Must accurately read, interpret, and analyze construction plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify the respective ready-mixed concrete products, and their performance and delivery parameters.
  • Must accurately perform basic mathematical functions including adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, percentage computations and basic area and volume computations using fractions, decimal equivalents, or whole numbers to solve construction calculations.
  • Must be proficient at reading, understanding, speaking, writing, and using the English language.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years sales experience, preferably in the construction or ready mix industry.
  • Must be at least 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass post-offer employment drug testing, medical exams, and physical agilities testing.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and/or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.

  • Must test negative on the pre-employment drug-screening test.

  • Must lift 50 pounds 4-times per day.

  • Must possess unrestricted mobility to twist, turn, bend, lean in all directions, lookup, down and side to side without hesitation or discomfort.
  • Except for conventional corrective aids, must possess normal eyesight, depth of perception, field of vision, normal hearing, quick reaction time, unimpaired eye-hand coordination, and manual dexterity.
  • Must perform 10-finger direct keyboard entry operations intermittently for up to 2-hours per day.
  • Must perform repetitive push and pull functions to open and close loaded file cabinets.
  • Must possess unrestricted mobility to twist, turn, bend, lean in all directions, and look up, down and side-to-side without hesitation or discomfort.

This is a salaried position. Monday through Friday, weekend and some evening work required, generally 60 hours per week, as required by production schedules or completion deadlines.
