Description:

POSITION PURPOSE:

Maintain the supply chain information system for surgical inventories on a daily basis. Manage inventory levels, Issue products, manage replenishment, input orders into SSID for Total Joints, knees, Fusions and other procedures, as necessary. Evaluate contracts, confirm pricing and work with vendors on supply management, consignment and the introduction of new products. Work as a member of the Value Analysis Committee by providing product research and financial impact review. Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to provide product research.

What you will do:

  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

  • Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.

  • Requisitions supplies for replenishment of Surgery, Surgery Consignment, Anesthesia and other department's inventory locations, as necessary.

  • Acts as information resource for Surgery staff regarding supply issues.

  • Maintains supply information in Lawson Supply Chain Information System for Surgery, Surgery Consignment, and Anesthesia and other department's inventory locations, as necessary.

  • Monitors daily supply chain information systems to ensure smooth operations.

  • Performs monthly billing task for Surgery supplies used by outside entities, Tri-State Surgery and Finley Hospital.

  • Reviews the activity level of stock items and recommends changes in status level.

  • Coordinates the sharing of supply information with Surgery department to ensure supply information in the Patient Scheduling System is accurate for charge purposes.

  • Maintains label system for shelving locations.

  • Participates as a member of the Peri-Op Value Analysis Team.

  • Coordinates annual and cyclical inventory counts.

  • Researches and develops standardization, contract compliance, or utilization improvement opportunities for products and services in areas of responsibility.

  • Maintains files of all group-purchasing contracts for assigned areas.

  • Performs cost analysis on all pertinent contracts to determine the financial impact of implementation on the Ministry.

  • Facilitates the implementation of new contracts and coordinates product conversions, promoting standardization formularies across the Ministry.

  • In conjunction with the education department, coordinates product trials in the MO. Communicates with the end users to ensure the products are satisfactory and all affected end users have opportunity to receive appropriate training through education department.

  • Maintains an appropriate file of catalogs and price lists; aids members of the MO in an advisory capacity regarding prices, item and vendor selection and approved TH SCM contracts for items, including Capital Purchases.

  • Works closely with Systems Analysis to update departmental templates to assure appropriate items and contract conversions are managed.

  • Actively participates in department meetings, committees, conferences, and in services.

  • Maintains confidentiality of information pertaining to clients, physicians, employees, and MercyOne business.

  • Assists with the Product Recall Program - Rasmas.

  • Ensure equipment is present for surgical procedures through coordination with OR staff, Physicians, and Physician Offices.

What we are looking for:

  • Requires an associate degree in business administration or related field or would consider two years of related purchasing experience in lieu of everyone year of formal education.

  • Must have a minimum of one to two years of related purchasing experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills required to communicate in a clear and concise manner with suppliers, hospital staff, physicians and hospital leadership.

  • Proficient math, computer, and cost analysis skills.

  • Must have a general working knowledge of computers and department specific software (i.e. HealthStream, internet, etc.)

  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of MercyOne and Trinity Health.

  • Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
