FOREST CITY COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT Director of Maintenance and Operations in Forest City, Iowa
Responsibilities include directing the activities of the maintenance, custodial and grounds staff in order to provide all students and staff with a physical learning environment that is safe, clean, attractive, pleasant, and smooth functioning.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and some formal education in engineering, maintenance, construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related areas.
- Experience in engineering, construction, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and personnel supervision.
- Experience in the industrial or school environment in the area of planning or maintaining physical facilities, ground maintenance equipment, and light-duty vehicles.
- Knowledge in the construction and maintenance of buildings, grounds, athletic facilities, and technology systems.
- Experience in business, school administration, and material and warehousing supervision, including purchasing of supplies and equipment and inventory management.
- Ability to operate a computer, including Microsoft Office and/or Google applications.
- Valid Iowa driver's license.
- Ability to communicate effectively using written and oral language.
- Ability to oversee the day-to-day activities of employees and ensures that they are productive and performing all assigned duties while collaborating with all departments.
- Ability to operate office, lawn care, and building equipment, hand and power tools, and snow removal equipment.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
