Job Summary
Grinnell College is currently seeking an energetic, motivated, and well-organized Administrative Assistant II for the Admissions department. This position is responsible for managing the front desk in the Office of Admission. This includes greeting visitors, answering multiple telephone lines, and ensuring that prospective student guests feel welcome upon their arrival. This position is also responsible for supporting the Visit Coordinator, which includes helping manage the logistics of daily visits and organizing the personnel involved in those visits: admission counselors, student tour guides, summer interns, and student senior interviewers. This role also serves as a back-up for the Visit Coordinator during work travel, vacations, illness, programs, and reading season. This Assistant also serves on the Campus Visit Team and Operations Team. The role is a front-facing position, and it is essential to be friendly, welcoming, and calm under pressure. In addition to working the front desk, this position will perform data entry, manage the admission email account, and perform multiple clerical tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Back up to the Coordinator of Campus Visits & Events
Serves at the Office of Admission receptionist
Assist in the managing of the tour guides, summer interns and senior interviewers
Cross train and other clerical duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or General Education Degree ( GED )
Three years or more relative work experience
Commitment to the College’s articulated mission and core values

Highest level of confidentiality maintained.
Strong command of the Microsoft Office suite applications, Teams, and WebEx
Detailed oriented and well organized.
Excellent written and oral communications skill, including grammar and spelling.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven communicator with the ability to effectively utilize various modes of communication.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities, frequent interruptions, and exercise independent judgment.
