Emerson Accountant in Marshalltown, Iowa

If you are an accounting professional looking for an opportunity to grow with an industry leader, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you based in our Marshalltown, IA location. In this role, the accountant will be responsible for general ledger accounting and account reconciliations, supporting the month end close cycle, assist in internal and external audits, and perform other tasks as requested.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Responsible for preparation of assigned monthly journal entries

  • Responsible for performing account reconciliations to ensure transactions are recorded in compliance with accounting standards

  • Perform monthly analysis of key balance sheet reserves

  • Provide support for annual internal and external audits by working cross functionally

  • Assist with preparation of monthly financial documents for various entities and ensure accuracy

  • Assess compliance of standard operating procedures and internal controls

  • Assist in other AdHoc tasks as assigned

  • Perform all duties in accordance with Company Business Conduct Guidelines

For this Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related business field

  • Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong business sense, critical thinking, and analytical/technical skills

  • Possess the ability to multitask, prioritize, work independently and in a group setting

  • Must be accounting focused with a good knowledge of GAAP

  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office suite

  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this role

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing industry preferred

  • Oracle and/or Hyperion experience preferred
