HOURLY PAY RANGE: $12.00 - $16.44

Hours - As needed by department

JOB SUMMARY

Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a RN and or LPN, primarily, in the Med-Surg area though may be directed to the Perioperative or ER setting. Performs general nursing duties and able to work with the age specific populations according to the setting.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Completion of geriatric aid certification and State of Iowa Nurse Aide registry listing as “Active” or eligible.

OR

Currently enrolled in an A.D.N., B.S.N., program with successful completion of first semester of A.D.N. program, OR first year completion of nursing courses in BSN OR graduate of an A.D.N., Diploma, BSN or LPN program.

Experience:

Previous experience as nurse's aide in hospital setting preferred or Nursing Student.

Special Skills and Competencies:

Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.

Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.
