Description We are seeking a Director of Financial Aid for an educational institution based in Sioux City, Iowa. This role involves overseeing the administration of federal and state aid programs, providing student-centered financial aid services, and developing and implementing financial aid policies.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the administration of federal and state aid programs, ensuring compliance with Department of Education guidelines.

• Provide student-centered financial aid services, developing a proactive customer service model.

• Advise students on their financial aid eligibility, application procedures, and deadlines.

• Analyze student financial data to determine aid eligibility and allocate awards.

• Organize and conduct financial aid workshops and campus visit events, providing clear information about financial aid opportunities.

• Facilitate communication and collaboration between Financial Aid and other University departments to ensure a seamless educational experience.

• Conduct research and prepare surveys and reports for strategic planning.

• Develop and enforce financial aid policies, particularly those related to scholarship awards.

• Review and interpret policy changes from the Department of Education and implement updates to internal procedures.

• Oversee the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and Return of Title IV Funds (R2T4) processes.

• Collaborate with the Business Office to ensure accurate data exchange between financial systems.

• Maintain and manage the technical aspects of the Ellucian Colleague system for financial aid processing.

• Engage in training opportunities to stay updated on financial aid regulations and best practices.

• Administer key federal programs such as the Pell Grant, Stafford/SLS/PLUS Loans, and campus-based programs.

• Stay updated with changing regulations and ensure compliance with laws and guidelines affecting financial aid. Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related role within an educational institution.

• Expertise in managing Budget Processes within an educational setting.

• Prior experience in handling Student Financial Aid and related activities.

• Knowledge of Educational Tuition Assistance Plan implementation and management.

• Ability to handle Regulatory Filings and Reporting in compliance with university policies.

• Familiarity with University Policies, especially those related to financial aid and budgeting.

• Experience with Annual External Audit and Internal External Audit processes.
