Title: User Experience Research Summer Intern 2025a - 109553
Your Responsibilities
You will support the John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group's UX Research & Validation Team and gain industry experience by documenting customer needs, developing research protocols, running customer events, analyzing data, and recommending improvements for our digital experiences and highly automated products in the Ag and Construction domains. You will operate as part of a data-driven team and build skills in identifying research questions, quickly developing a plan to collect data with a limited number of customers and presenting research analyses/findings back to program leadership. You will receive mentoring/coaching to expand your UX talents and be afforded opportunities to hone your skillset by interacting with real customers to solve real problems.
What Skills You Need:
Core understanding of human factors principles, experimental design, and collecting data with human subjects
Ability to review relevant literature in human factors, user experience, and human behavior and use that information to propose research studies or product improvements
Demonstrated experience defining and executing contextual inquiry and usability studies
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze/interpret data in order to draw conclusions and make recommendations that enhance the user experience
Excellent communication skills (Verbal, Written, Presentation)
Currently pursuing a graduate degree (MS or PhD) in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, or Psychology (Cognitive, Applied, Experimental, etc).
Desired cumulative GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale. Minimum cumulative GPA required of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
What Makes You Stand Out:
Familiarity with (or actively conducting) research involving human interactions with automation and autonomy, decision making, and/or gamification
Experience with statistical analysis and analytics tools and methods
Experience facilitating remote data collection studies
