Job Description

The ERP Application Specialist is a vital role focused on providing exceptional customer service and technical support to end users by assisting with business processes, reporting, and training. This position emphasizes project management, data analysis, and SQL initiatives while ensuring data security and integrity. The ERP Application Specialist also supports federal and state regulatory reporting, web-based programming, and assists in Ellucian ERP projects, upgrades, and ongoing support.

This position is a full-time Professional Services position (261-day contract).

Starting salary for the position is $45,000.00 annually.

Benefits include medical, dental & vision insurance, $50,000 life insurance, long-term disability, paid sick leave, paid discretionary leave, 15 days vacation per year, paid holiday and spring breaks and participation in IPERS or TIAA retirement plan.

The ERP Application Specialist will abide by the employment contract and relevant policies and guidelines of the Board of Trustees.

Essential Duties Summary

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Deliver high-quality customer service by providing technical assistance, guidance, and training to end users, ensuring that business processes and ERP functionalities meet their needs.

  • Collaborate with various departments to support their specific ERP requirements and troubleshoot issues.

  • Lead and participate in ERP -related projects, focusing on effective project management, task completion, and communication in project meetings.

  • Act as a member of the College’s Reporting and Data Team, prioritizing data requests and assisting with SQL database and reporting initiatives, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

  • Support SQL -based reporting tools and provide analysis to generate insights that drive decision-making.

  • Work closely with end users to assess, implement, and optimize processes and procedures, ensuring alignment with business needs and operational workflows.

  • Collaborate with ITS Security Team and department leaders to establish and enforce user access controls and maintain database security, with a focus on privacy and compliance with regulations.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation on systems, processes, and technical issues to ensure efficient communication and knowledge sharing.

  • Provide ongoing support for the Ellucian ERP system, participating in upgrades, enhancements, and system maintenance to ensure seamless operations.

  • Work closely with third-party vendors to implement, manage, and maintain technical resources that align with institutional goals.

  • Create, manage, and resolve Help Desk tickets related to the ERP system, ensuring timely and effective resolutions to technical issues.

  • Commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy and other duties as assigned.

  • This position requires flexibility in scheduling, with the expectation of availability beyond standard hours as work demands.

  • The ERP Application Specialist will abide by the employment contract and relevant policies and guidelines of the Board of Trustees.

    Required Qualifications

  • Associate Degree required, with preference for a degree in Information Technology or related field.

  • Two years of experience in higher education or community college environments preferred.

  • Knowledge in SQL queries, data analysis and reporting, providing valuable insights to improve business processes.

  • Proficiency in SQL Reporting Services and other reporting tools preferred.

  • Experience in supporting Enterprise Resource Planning ( ERP ) systems; Ellucian ERP experience is preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in project management and procedures is highly valued.

  • Working knowledge of web development tools and programming languages is preferred.

  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and Access.

  • Strong critical thinking, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-first mindset in resolving user issues and training others.

  • Ability to work with confidential information and ensure data privacy and security.

  • Willingness to engage in professional development to stay current with technology and best practices in ERP systems and data analysis.

  • Customer service excellence, with the ability to translate complex technical solutions into user-friendly processes.

  • Project management skills to lead and contribute to ERP projects, upgrades, and enhancements.

  • Strong collaboration skills, working effectively with teams, end users, and third-party vendors.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Physical Demands

The ERP Application Specialist must have the ability and mobility to service both campuses; ability to travel to other areas and throughout the college district as needed. Must be able to work on a basis of “available as work demands” in addition to a fixed schedule, which will include evenings and weekends. In addition, the individual in this position will actively promote a positive image for the college district.
