EMPLOYEE JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Maintenance Director

Department: Administration

Supervisor: Administrator

Position(s) Supervised: Environmental Services

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

General Job Summary:

The primary purpose of the Maintenance Director is to assist with general maintenance items in the health care facility to ensure compliance with Life Safety Code while maintaining a safe environment for the residents.

Duties and Responsibilities

Performs general maintenance within the facility and grounds such as painting, floor care, general upkeep, equipment repairs, plumbing, electrical.

Assists with special projects as directed by the Administrator

Requires to be on-call

Ensures a safe environment.

Promptly reports any unsafe working condition.

Address any accidents or emergency situations.

Demonstrate knowledge of fire, general safety, and disaster plan procedures. Performs all required life safety code proceedures per Fire Marshall regulations.

Demonstrates knowledge of proper body mechanics.

Operate all equipment in a safe manner.

Utilizes cost effective measures during job performance.

Follows set budgetary guidelines.

Interact/communicate with residents, staff, and visitors in a courteous manner.

Acts as a positive representative of the facility.

Contributes to team effort, may float to other positions as needed.

Communicates with employees in all departments.

Keeps all resident and employee information confidential.

Reports all complaints/grievances to the Administrator

Reports actions detrimental to resident welfare to the Administrator

Qualifications:

General Qualifications

Able to perform general maintenace in areas of plumbing, electrical, equipment repair, painting.

Sound judgment and high moral standards.

Sincere desire to work with the aged and those with limited capacity for self-care.

Ability to organize and coordinate for multiple patients.

Must be well-groomed, courteous, tactful, patient, kind and pleasant when dealing with patients.

Must be level-headed in emergency situations.

Must be self-motivated and have an acute sense of responsibility.

Must possess a spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm in order to create an atmosphere conducive to rehabilitation and growth.

Education

High School Graduate or GED equivalent.

Continuous Education

Attends and participates in continuing education programs.

Work Experience

No previous work experience is required.

Experience in working with individuals with limited capacity is preferred.
